Cartoneros at work: separating for a better future

Every day, the cartoneros walk the streets, collecting recyclable materials and taking them to the recycling plant. There, a crucial step begins: the careful separation of the collected waste. With practiced hands, they sort paper, cardboard, plastic and metal - a process that not only protects our environment, but also feeds their families.

This work is hard, but it makes a significant contribution to ensuring that valuable resources do not end up in landfills but can be reused. The cartoneros make an invaluable contribution to the circular economy and prove every day how important their commitment to a more sustainable world is.

This was also evident during Renata Jacobs' recent visit. In the early hours of the morning, she accompanied the parents of our students to their work in the recycling plant. She watched with great interest as they sorted, separated and prepared the collected materials for recycling.

Their visit was a sign of appreciation for all those who work day after day for a better future for their children – a future that we can shape together.

Behind each of these laborious activities there is a story, a life, a family. Their commitment deserves not only recognition, but also respect and support. Together we can ensure that their work is valued and that better prospects for the future are created.
